Critical Reflection Questions

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

My product uses challenges and conventions through there being different options and options to choose from. The definition of a vacuum is "an electrical apparatus that by means of suction collects dust and small particles from floors and other surfaces.'' Now this Can represent social groups or issues due to the competitiveness of how different vacuums work and which ones are better. For example my product specifically the shark rotator vacuum could cause issues because this is the one vacuum that has a powerful lift away and the most powerful suction. Someone could argue how there vacuum is better then mines and that's how it causes social groups through commercials or adds there are going to be hundreds of the same type of product but in different form and with different techniques.

2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My product engaged with the audiences by trying to make it fun and exciting so the audience found it entertaining. I tried using fun and cool shots to match the action going on in the clip and tried to use cool transitions so it didn't look so blan. Another important thing I felt that was important was to Make sure my voice over had enthusiasm and a exciting tone to it. I could have recorded the product the whole time during the commercial and kept the camera on the product but i felt it was important to add scenes that dramatic or funny things are occuring so the audience didn't get bored. This could be distributed as a real media text through a tv commercial maybe on more adult channels like TBS and Comedy central because adults would be the ones more interested in purchasing or learning about the product. Another way this could be distributed through a real media text would be a add on youtube or hulu because my product is a more common product that essentials to most human beings and seeing this type of add would be awkward it would be more relatable to the audience.

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
My production skills developed through this project by over coming a lot of complications and learning more on filming. For example the actress and i had to repeat a lot of scenes because either she didn't look natural or I did not record correctly. Throughout the last scenes we were getting them right on the firsts shots so I could clearly see from the first to last scenes my production skills have increased along with the actress. Another thing I can say went wrong on my behalf of the production skills were remembering to film in a horizontal direction the whole time. At one point of the for two mini clips I forgot to keep the camera horizontal and I recorded it vertically and as I downloaded my commercial after finishing editing and everything I realized I made a mistake. Next time I will be more prepared and b very critical on myself and my work so I can make sure everything comes out perfect. A way I can say my production skills have progressed throughout the project was through my editing I learned a lot of new ways to edit and how to do voiceovers and slow down scenes I learned a lot more then knew before working on this project.

4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I integrated technology software and online in this project through recording everything on my i phone 11. I recorded every scene on my phone using my camera and taking videos or multiple mini shoots. My product is also a way i integrated technology is through my lap top i used my lap top to edit and download all my videos recorded on my phone. On my lap top i used a website called clip champ and from there i edited all my video the way i wanted. At one pint i had to convert all the videos from my phone to my lap top so i was able to edit them.
