Commercial / Commercial Blog
For my first commercial blog this was quite a interesting project. I didn't do everything a hundred percent correctly but I tried and from my perspective and others I did a good job. There are plenty of ways I can improve on this and I wish I could go back and fix my two clips that I recorded vertically but sense I cant im still content with my final product. Coming into this I thought there was going to be a lot of complications and confusion but surprisingly it went smoothly. Looking back I feel if I had the help of someone or better settings to film this project commercial it would have made it look real legit because two brains are better then one. I feel as if this project opened up my first set of skills for filming because I figured everything out by myself. I know there is still a lot to learn about filming and editing and i'm willing to learn all about it. During my filming and referring back to my powerpoint terms for shots and angles helped me choose which ones to do during this project. I know I repeated a lot of movements and hots and angles but I tried fitting in as much as I could while filming the actor. During this process i also found myself with patience when it comes to the fact that you have to shoot everything until its perfect. For example not one film did I do that came out perfect the first time. There are times that people have filmed recorded and got it right on the first take but in my situation it was the opposite. I made sure everything was done to the perfect amount even if it was me and the actor dropping the cereal bowl over and over and cleaning it over and over until we got the right take. In my opinion thats whats filming is all about though creating things, putting things together, trying again until getting the right product. During my commercial project I did a lot of research on other commercials for the product I use and seen ways and techniques they explained thing that was very helpful to me. I even read articles and read how commercials are conducted and produced in different elements of things being sold and a lot of different products use different techniques to make the audience attracted to wanting to buy that one thing. I wish I honestly had more time during my commercial because I wish I could explain more about my vacuum and how it works. I chad to cram everything into 30 seconds and try to explain it the best I could as fast as I could wich was no longer than 5 seconds each take. Doing the commercial on my phone as well I could say wasn't that bad because my camera was good but I feel if I had a actual camera for photos and videos it could have made the film better. Even though my project wasn't perfect or the best I think I did a good job I didn't plan on the video uploading with a black boarder but I cant do nothing to fix that problem either.
