filming at home successfully filming blog
I started filming my commercial on october 21st 2020 with my actress at the filming location. To start off how i started my filming process was by using my regular camera on my phone and filming everything horizontally. I already cleaned my house had all the props witch where my furniture, foods, and plants ready to be used and recorded. We started by the first scene which was on actress dropping her cereal on the ground. This was harder to film then i thought because we had to pick up all the cereal and keep trying to it didn't look like a planned stunt, we wanted it to look more realistic. In this first scene i used the mid shot not to close or to far but just in the middle distance from the actor to show her mess and reaction. In the second scene filmed was the actress getting ready to leave the house knocking over a plant pot of dirt. In this scene the actress looked a bit more natural knocking over the plant because we have already rehearsed the first scene a lot of times and this one would be harder to refilm because it was dirt falling so we tried nailing it on the first try. This scene i also used the mid shot to show what was happening and the actors reaction. For this third scene was me filming a 360 of the shark rotator vacuum. I used the point of view shot for this so i could get the vacuums all angles in the time 5 seconds so i didn't have to do any extra camera movement showing any other parts. In the fourth scene i was filming the features of the vacuum and unfortunately my phone died so i had to wait for my phone to turn back on and start filming again. In this scene i used the high angle shot when filming the two newly added features of the vacuum so i could show exactly the movement of the vacuum and how it moved. 13 In this fifth scene was the filming of the shark vacuum cleaning the messes linked back to the first scene. This filming was more complicated because i wanted it to look more realistic and it was looking like i was just recording off my phone even though i was i wanted it to look more real. I fixed this problem by shooting this shot with the close up shot because two different things were being filmed in this one scene and both of them needed to be looked at in the right way or it looked bad. Using the close up shot made it look way more realistic because it was a better view of showing the two features being used up close leaving no mess behind and doing it job correctly. In the sixth scene was a filming scene of the vacuum cleaning under hard to get places as a closing scene. In this scene i used the movement tilt to show under the couch and under the tv stand so it looked like you were looking at the object as it came towards you. This last part was kind of complicated because i was trying to film in 5 seconds but it kept going around 3 to 4 seconds over the time so we had to keep reshooting over and over again. The end of filming i was super proud of myself because i know i did everything correctly and tried my best and i was just ready to move onto editing.
