Retake And Re-edit Editing Blog
To begin with when starting my editing process I signed into my laptop and downloaded all my clips from my phone. Once they were all in my downloads I uploaded it to my editing website and I had to line them all up in order and make sure all the clips were converted together all in the right order that they were recorded in. The first problem started here because the time of all my clips together were around 40 seconds and I got stressed thinking that I would have to reshoot everything shorter. Later i realized why it was so long is because I accidently imported my retake clips and the clips I messed up on that I forgot to delete out my phone. Surprisingly when I deleted those extra scenes that didn't need to be there it now was 3 seconds short. I easily fixed that problem later on in editing by making some clips in slow motion which actually looked better that ways anyways because it gave it more of a dramatic effect. As I was watching all the clips I just realized some clips won't play our right how I wanted it and it didn't give a commercial feeling no matter how I tried editing the clips around. Unfortunately the actress and I had to re film some scenes and I had to reupload those new ones. Once I uploaded those newly filmed clips to the editing website making sure it sounded like a commercial and not just a bunch of random this was a important part in this editing process. I started to feel as if you could tell when the clip would cut off but that's why I cut each clip to the perfect amount of time to make it look as authentic and original as it possibly could. After making sure everything was in order and cropped down to the correct timing everything added up to 30 seconds I started on my voice overs. During my voice over process it was pretty simple to do this part my voice went along perfectly with the clips and sounded the closes I could possibly get to a commercial. It was also perfect timing of what I was saying to add up with the amount of time in the clip before it moved on to another clip. The only problem that came during editing the voice over was you could hear the back round noises in the official clips I found a way to turn the official audio down on every clip and then insert my voice over after. The finals parts where now almost coming into play I started to watch my video over and over again I added some few transitions where I felt they were needed when the locations in the clips would change to make it feel more real. I went online and found commercial instrumental sounds and downloaded one and put it into the commercial. At first the song was like two minutes so I had to cut it down a minute and 30 seconds to fit the criteria. The second to last problem I had was the back round music was to loud over the the voice over so I had to edit it down to a level 40 and it sounded perfect. The last problem I had that I wasn't able to fix was I accidently filmed two small clips vertically and its suppose to be filmed horizontally and it was to late to go back and change it i would have to go redu those scenes with the actor and then reedit the whole entire video. Overall the filming process took a while but was worth it i met almost every single criteria on the list except the one mistake i just mentioned and im proud myself.
